What a great time we had last weekend! One of our daughters-in-law celebrated her birthday and we went to Charleston to join in the festivities. I knitted little dresses for our 2 granddaughters and, as you can see, Brooke had to wear hers immediately. Let's think... was I offended by that? NOT! This picture was taken after she had already pulled on all of the buttons and attempted to untie the bows. The pattern is a Plymouth pattern (CK06) for the yarn - Cotton Kisses. I used size 7 needles and it took very little time to make 2 size 4 dresses - and it was lots of fun. One skein each of 2 colors and plenty left over. This yarn is machine washable and dryable - a necessity for VERY active children. These colors and more are in stock at Ewe Knit Kits & Yarn http://www.eweknitkits.com .
So, when I gave each grandchild (only saw 3 this trip) a bag of treats, including the dresses for the girls, our grandson wanted to know what I knitted for him. Did that make me feel fantastic and quilty at the same time. Quick recovery - "I have a special treat for you for your first day of school in August!" He was satisfied, but I still felt awful :o(
